What could I have done during this throttle cable swap to cause this problem? I checked everything I could think to check, but maybe I'm missing something. All I did was put a new throttle cable in, as the old one melted on the turbo housing. Now, I'm constantly blowing the brake light fuse. What do I do now?

 

Do you have a trailer brake controller inside the cab?

My guess is you have disturbed a wire under the dash and shorted it out on something.

Trailer brake controller wiring would be a good location to start looking.

Even if a previous owner had one installed that is not there now, I have seen some funky wiring done before.

 

There IS an old tbc in there, which I had planned to swap out for my nice newer one. I'll check that area tomorrow. I wouldn't doubt I hit something trying to get my paws up in that area to pull the cable from the assembly. Thanks!

 

Were did you get the cable,and how much???

 

Napa, $55 and change. And, the clip broke when I went to push it into place on the bracket. What ever happened to quality?
