Un-used connector

Ok, I have determined what it is, It is the Tach pickup.
This connector plugs into a pickup in the IP drive housing, It is not there and is plugged off.
My Q's are:
I suspect that should have been asked on the Pre-Stroke forum.
I am trying to find a Tach. or an instrument cluster w/Tach.

- What does this pickup read/sense on the inside. (Whats on the gear that it senses)
- Would it always be there.
