unused connector

2004 F350, behind the driver side front turn signal, a small black connector with a pink wire and a dkgreen/orangestripe wire, it is 'attached' (non-electrically) to the truck...what is/could it be used for? Thank you.

Do you have the electronic climate control?

That is probably the connector for the outside air temp sensor.

I don't believe so, it is simple HVAC, no outside temperature reading, no automatic thermostat, manual-set air-conditioning (by color range (blue/red), not with a temperature digit)...no fog lights (could it be for that?), could it be for upfitting (is that the correct term)??

My 2012 has a few unused connectors, too. Fog light connector is prewired to a plug with a blank in it below the radiator. The fog light kit contains the needed harness split. However, I have another blank plug below the radiator, not sure of its use. Of course your truck may be different. Maybe it was used for a sensor on the diesel version if your is a gas, or vice-versa.

I think you are on it....
It's likely the connector for the outside air temp sensor for trucks with the overhead console (Lariat trim).

it could be a resistor, because of the way it is attached I only ASSUMED that it was a connector, however, I do not have daytime running lights, are you saying that it's there anyway?

Is it the wire for the outside temp sensor. There is no sensor hooked to it because you don't have auto climate control.

My understanding is if you don't have DRL, the connector is still there. My truck has DRL, but the resistor was removed and connector cut off.
