VIN decode

I just got this truck. It's kinda weird with some of the options. The warranty plate was painted so I think that the trans and axle codes are correct. Thanks

F10 = F100 2WD

Y = 352 2V

K = Kansas City Assembly Plant

834573 = Assembled March 1966

129" Wheelbase

No COLOR code

F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVWR

481: 4 = Medium Beige Crush Vinyl & Medium Beige Wicker Pattern Vinyl // 81 = 81A Standard Cab

A - Ford type 3.03 3 Speed Manual all Syncromesh Transmission

08 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.50-1 / non Limited Slip / 3300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.

5,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating

172 NET HP @ 4,000 RPM.

DSO: 511387:

51 = Denver CO Ford District Sales Zone Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

1387 = Domestic Special Order Number. The truck was ordered special from Ford, not "bought off the lot."

Since there is no COLOR code, the special order prolly had to do with the truck being painted a non standard Ford color.

Did standard cabs come with the chrome that goes on the dash, up at the windshield and in the middle of the dash. This truck has that like a CC.

Only when a padded dash was installed.

Your truck prolly had one. It rotted out, a previous owner removed it leaving the chrome strips.

Was a padded dash a option for all trucks or just custom cabs?
