Welcome to FTE. I can help you with most of the information you're looking for. F11 = F100 4 wheel drive truck. Y = 352 cubic inch 2 bbl FE V8 engine. K = built in Kansas City. 794267 = built in December, 1965. 129 = wheelbase in inches. Color BM = two tone paint. B = Caribbean Turquoise. M = Wimbledon White. F110 = 5600 GVW rated half ton truck. C81 = Medium green crush vinyl and medium green cody pattern woven plastic upholstery in a Custom Cab. A = New Process 435 4 speed transmission. 08 = Ford 9 inch non-limited slip differential with 3.50 gears. 5600 pounds = gross vehicle weight rating. 172 @ 4000 = NET horsepower rating and the rpms where achieved. 747006 = a Domestic Special Order truck through the Seattle (74) district sales office. Unfortunately, records no longer exist to explain exactly what your special order entailed. Frequently it's to do with exterior paint, but when that happens the exterior paint code is usually left blank. Maybe it has to do with green upholstery in a blue truck. Blue upholstery would have been B81 or K81. I have no real idea. Perhaps Number Dummy will have an explanation when he reads this. Anyway, hope this helps. Have fun with your truck.

Caribbean Turquoise is not blue, it's a light greenish shade, similar to this.

Living in AZ, there's a gazillion shops that sell Navajo jewelery, whiz to one, see what shades of turquoise look like, the green varieties, not the blue.

As I am color blind it looks blue to me - not that I would know the difference. I haven't been near a jewelry store of any kind in 40 years. Fortunately I have an understanding wife! I prefer to spend my money on truck parts!

In order to have an understanding wife or gal pal, especially if owning old rolling piles of misery, sometimes it becomes necessary to spend some money on them.

And women love jewelery!

'66 4x4 - History

Had the pleasure of speaking to the 2nd owner of my '66 4x4. His family owned the pickup from '68-'69 until 2005. Confirmed that the engine is a 390 as the original 352 threw a rod in the early 70's. Also mentioned that the truck sat for about 10 years before he sold it, in a shed, which helps explain the condition, other than the bed. He admitted the rust issues in the bed were, more than likely, from the chemicals they used to spray yards with.

Also informed me of the original owner who happened to sell it to them as he wanted a truck with power steering. Small world, my Dad was the original owners accountant until he passed away.
