Anyway, I kept an eye on the boost and EGT's..I was really nervouse today, but once the truck warmed up good and about 10 miles into the trip the turbo loosend up and all has been good for the whole trip. EGTS never went above 800* and I kept the boost around 25 and no hard accels when cold...obviously. The CEL with the dreaded low boost code never reared its ugly head.
I ordered my CCV reroute from Dave so hopefully after it is installed it will help some with this issue. I guess I aavaoided a trip to the service dept. for now anyway.
Its a shame when this thing runs I have no issues at all. I was gonna bite the bullet and get rid of the VGT but I just have way too much warranty left to do that.
Oh well she fights another battle and wins the round.
high boost at low rpm can also be a sesoe issue. i had the same problem back around january, the dealerfound an exaust pressure sensor or something, they replaced it and the issue went away.
I am pretty sure that the veins were stuck. It ran great once they came un stuck. I could tell by the way the truck sounded and the boost guage that they were stuck. I checked it for any codes when I got back, and there were none stored in any module. Usually I get the low boost code but nothing this trip which is what is puzzling. Anyway the truck is running fine now, I will see again tomarrow how its running.
I look forward to recieving it, although I will have to do some custom work to it. I was reading the directions and I think the one bracket may interfere with the coolant filter.
I guess you werent going to give me an early Christmas present...one could only hope
I recieved today my BD CCV kit, and as usual this will be a custom install due to my other mods. The kit is well built and will work great for those of you with a stock truck. However, my Banks CAC pipes, larger IC, and coolant filtr pose a problem. I will try to post some pics, as a step by step install.
Dave you guys put together a great kit, and for me at a great price, guess I just went over board with the mods. This will be tomarrows project as its a little slow at the shop.
Sarge
On a positive note, I have taken the time to drive my truck almost everyday and I can say that its runnign great now.
