went to junkyard again
well, about 2 months ago we went to the junkyard. I came out with a grill insert, factory jack with handle, a cig lighter assembly with 2 lighters for $25. when we went to pay for the stuff the guy said that the grill insert and grill surround went together. and the grill surround is in excellent shape. so we decided we would go back soon and get it.
today we went back and got the rest of the grill, an under the dash A/C unit from a bumpside, some headlights, A/C brackets for the engine, a window crank, and two other real small things for $60. the guy originally said that the under the dash A/C thing was gonna be $50, but then changed it to $60 (the grill part was already paid for, and the other stuff he said, "Take it.") I'm not worried about the 10 extra bucks cause we got the grill and insert for $25.
so overall I'm real pleased. for $85 I got a grill insert (chrome plated) and mint grill shell, a factory jack and handle, cig lighter and 2 lighters, a window crank, one of those lock things, a wing nut for the jack, A/C unit brackets, and an under the dash A/C unit.
the A/C thing we're probably gonna have to retro fit, but we can do it. first, we're gonna take it apart and clean that thing out.....it's dirty. and then we're gonna refurbish it.
I wish I could take pics of all the stuff I got, but we don't have a digital camera; I always borrow my uncle's.
I started taking the grill and stuff off but then we found out that we need some kind of little black clip things cause they're old and some are broken. so, I put it all back together and probably tomorrow we'll buy some of those things. I'll definately take some before and after pics for y'all. we're working on cleaning up the grill a little bit then we'll put the new stuff on.

Junkyards, Wrecking Yards
What is NOT to love about the ultimate scores we find at the yards!!! It does make me sad sometimes to see perfectly good vehicles that someone decided to junk out...but on the other hand it helps us out sometimes as well. I just scored my Hydroboost unit from a 2004 Superduty for a whopping 17 bucks!!! They sell new/rebuilt for as much as 600 bucks!!!! Needless to say...sometimes it's a gold mine!! Also picked up my 1976 Low Pinion 44-6CF HD Disc Front for 100 bucks...New Bearings, New Brakes, Rebuilt Calipers, Good Rotors, etc...That was a Score!!!
