Every once in a while when im accelerating with a light foot the truck shifts HARD from 1st to 2nd, like slam your head against the back window hard. It doesn't do it when accelerating quicker or to any other gear. Now I've read on here that these transmissions kind of learn your driving, so I got the battery disconnected now to see if I can reset from the P.O.
Got an ABS light/Check Engine Light or having any problems with your speedo? When my truck was being brutally harsh on the 1-2 shift I had all those other problems as well. It was the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) in the rear end.
Possible it could be a messed up 1-2 accumulator or spring... My Thunderbird use to shift hard enough into second that it would rip the power wire for my amp outta its clip.
My truck shifts fine, no slipping except for when it shifts into overdrive. it shifts a bit hard. no od light flashing fluid is not burnt smelling and is full. any suggestions? where to start? what to look at or try?
