I got one on order right now for Pat, and Ford back ordered it till July, Not being a tech guy I have no clue why these fail, really do not see allot of problems anymore with these failing. Ford has been having supplier issues lately. I think some of their vendors are going out of business and that's hurting everyone, Ford, Chev, Toyota, Honda etc I think it is the main reason Ford wanted the bailout money to go to the other auto makers cause if they go under all the vendors who make parts for everyone would go under too. It a tickle down effect for sure.
Installation is one electrical connector and 3 bolts. Not hard... just tedious getting into position in the driver side floor if you're a big guy like me.
Joe... sorry, but that's not always the case. My truck is a perfect example. It listed as being able to replace the sensor only, but due to the build date, it was actually fitted with an earlier version of the pedal/TPS assembly which was probably lying around on the shelf and was easier to pick up and isntall rather than going after the correct version. I HAD to replace the entire assembly because you could NOT remove the sensor from my pedal assembly.
Jason... Big Buy, Big Guy, Best Buy.... I don't think there's any difference!
On the 2000 model it has 3 10mm bolts (easy to get too) and 2 plugs
