Please don't put a glass pack on your 300. It will give it a BLAT sound. Why don't you try a flowmaster 10 series? They're about 9'' by 9'' and has a single baffle. It would be small and easy to install and give you a good, Diesel like sound. Glass packs aren't something I would put on a 300. I would put glass packs on a V8, but not our Six Poppers.
I love your idea though.
Well I began building my system last night and let's just say a little birdy told me not to use the galsspack. I would love to do dual stacks but it's just not in the budjet.
Thanks a lot man! Let me rephrase that for you though. "..sounds awesome for an i6."
I did not mean it that way. Your truck sounds good, period.
Thanks a lot, you've made my night!

Why not just run a single stack? I think it would look cool and it would be the smart way to go. It would also be more simple. I'd love to run stacks on my FlareSide. I'd run the pipes coming out of my steps. That would look so sweet.
I'm glad you're not going to use glass packs. I had one on my 300 a long time ago and it wasn't worth the $30 I paid for the glass pack.

That's the plan, man. Did some expermenting tonight and guess what.... It sounds AMAZING!! I will have to post a sound clip when i'm completely done. It honestly sounds better than any cummins i've ever heard.

What did you do?? Details, man! Details! Time for sound clips asap!
I've heard some sweet sounding Cummins and I don't think any 300 can sound as good as a Cummins. I heard a Cummins one time that about had me drooling.. Oh my..
Yeah, I doubt a 300 is going to sound as good as a Cummins. Even stock a stock Cummins sounds badass. The rollback wrecker I drive has a Cummins and even it sounds cools. If only it had more than 210 HP, so its a slow SOB even without a car on the back, but it sounds cool.

Haha. You must remember that my 300 is earlier and carbed if it matters at all. And just so you know, this is a rather "rednecked" job i'm doing here. Nothing like an exhaust shop. I chopped everything before the cats, widened it out to like three inches and clamped some flex pipe on there, then I widened it out again so it fit inside my semi stack. Just let it lay on the ground and WOW! I fell in love with how it sounds. Now I gotta figure out how to mount it in the bed. Sound clips will come when i get done.
I was kidding when I said it sounds better than a cummins.

I've heard some sweet sounding Cummins. I don't know why they sound so good, they're just a straight six too. I wish my 300 sounded like a Cummins. Who cares if it's fast when it sounds so sweet?

Thanks for filling me in man! How do you like flex pipe? I've been wondering about it.. Like I said, I want to straight pipe my truck and I would need to use it to cross over my tranny brace.
I can't wait to hear that sound clip! How big is your semi stack? And the fact your 300 is carb'd does make a difference.. they sound better than EFI.

I don't like the flex pipe. I love it. Very easy to work with.
I'd say my stack is about 6 inches in diameter and about 3 feet tall. When I'm done it'll be tall enough to go from the bottom of the bed to just above the top of the cab, so I'm gonna have to find some more pipe. I'm also wondering if I should come up through the bed on the inside or the outside of the frame. What do you think?
