hey guys, i just took off the muffler, right were the pipe and muffler meet at the factory joint. will this warm anything if i run it this way? will it harm the turbo? i just dont want to mess up my truck
Like Chase said but after awhile you'll have some soot all underneath the truck over time back there. What I would have done is take out the muffler and had a delete(straight pipe) welded in its place, this way the exhaust exits out the back...
i actually just got done making my own turndown out of the stock exhaust pieces. it is inside the wheel and a few inches before it but angled right at the ground, i knew it would soot everything so i tried to help as much as possible. also, any of you guys in mass have a problem with the straight pipe?
I'd imagine Mass could be a little annoying about it. They're pretty obnoxious.
One option is to gut your stock muffler and put a pipe straight through so it appears to be there, but in reality it is a straight pipe going through a hollowed muffler.
Jim Meggawatt02 just posted in another thread here today about the NEW dot regulations, if you got a dually you might want to reconsider, seems Ma. is getting nuts on their inspection now...Not to bum you out, just being informative..
