There are a couple of groups that wheel at Tuttle. There is a group Kansas 4x4 that includes a bunch of the folks here at the Kansas chapter. There is also a local group with folks from around the north central Kansas area "Trail Krawlers." Both have web sites.
The Off Road Area at Tuttle Creek is a public off road area and is located just south of Randolf off of Highway 77.
Hang around here and we'll get you hooked up. We are planning a gathering on the week end of April 18th.
also are there any 4x4 clubs in this area one could join?
There are quite a few up in the Ft Riley and manhatten areas. We (KS chapter) usually have a few get togethers with a couple other groups up at Tuttle. Keep an eye on the boards for events and what not. Chad (flip4ford) is the guy to ask about where all the trails are at Tuttle, he knows them better than I.
its Core of Engineers / state park, no sticker to play/ its public land, but keep in mind the tread lightly theory. don't tear up what you don't have to, don't pollute, and follow park rules.
The groups listed above try very hard to keep this park open, it has both mud to play in and rocks/trails to climb. There are lots of groups that want to close the area.
That being said, we have a great group here, great people, and we love to show people around the park, so once we can align our schedules to work with yours, we would be more than happy to show you around. Welcome to the Kansas Chapter, make yourself at home!
Thanks all i sure will.

Lots of people come to the ORV looking for mud and decide they like the rocks and trails alot more. The mud is really hard on parts. You would think it was the other way around.
