Rearend
I have a 92 f150 4x4 with the 302. Recently it started shaking real bad in any gear between 30-40 mph like they usually do when a universal goes bad. I crawled under and the universals seem solid. Also it makes a noise that sounds like springs when they need grease, but only when im on the gas. Could this possibly be something like a bad pinion bearing? I hope not haha

A tight universal is not necessarally a good one, if one of the caps is dry the bearings will grind and eventually destroy themselves, this could be the noise you hear. The only real way to confirm the condition of the joints is remove the axle and disassemble the joints.

Ok thanks I will drop the driveshaft and take apart the joints I always thought if there was no play in the joint then it was ok. Good thing for this forum if it is a joint I almost tore apart my rearend!
