Front end grind
Ok guy's, my front end is making a bad grinding noise in 4x4. I really notice it when turning. I changed the fluid and added the slip agent and it isn't getting any better. When the hubs are locked but not in 4 wheel there is only a small vibration like a universal and it turns fine. In 4x4 it almost sounds like a snap from the center of the front end.

Are you driving in 4x4 on solid pavement? If so that is your problem. The front weals have to be able to slip some on turns otherwise it will binde and couse problems.
I get the same thing when plowing, I will put it in 4x4 to climb into a snowy driveway, but as soon as I hit dry pavement with the steering wheel turned it binds up and you hear a poping in the front end.

Chances are you have a axle joint or a u-joint getting ready to go. If your hubs are locked in then everything is turning that turns when you are in 4x4, just no power is being applied until you push the magic button (or pull the lever).
