Motor Mounts

Ok gang, its that time for me,I need to change motor mounts on my 01 Expy! Anybody have any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas? Dont forget, do I purchase OEM, or something else?

How do you know you need to change them ??

I have U-joint, rear tranny bearing vibe issues, and i think/thought it is the motor mounts..

Because Im good! No really,just kidding! I've been noticing some hard to find clunking from the front end. Im very very picky about my chassis stuff. I've been all thru this thing and finally decided to take a closer look at the mounts. Both mounts looked a little worse for wear upon initial inspection. So, I did the next best thing, and jacked up each side of the motor using a long board, and whalla, my motor moved up about 2.5 inches. And, you can now see the metal to metal contact I think I've been feeling...

Sorry, Im blind I guess! I didnt read your whole reply. Do you know how to check for a bad u-joint? If not I have a trick or two. I also have some very slight vibes. Some vibes went away when I purchased new tires. Im getting ready to start replacing all the joints here pretty soon, mainly due to age. Im going to have my drivelines re-balanced when i do.
