Hey guys, I'm new here, just ran across the site while I was looking for a little info on my truck. I have a '92 Ford F-150 and a lil while back I got in an accident that pushed my right front fender back into my passsenger door. I can't quite afford a new fender right now so I've been looking into just moving the fender back forward so that I can at least get the door open. My only question about it is how should I do it? Should I take the fender right off the truck, bend all the brackets back to where they belong and reattach it? If so how do I find out where and how the fender is attatched and where the brackets were before the accident, are there any places online where I could find diagrams? Or should I just try to wedge something between the door and fender and hope the fender moves with out screwing up the door. The door is perfectly fine, no problems with it at all so I'd rather not risk messing it up.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot!!
Chris
Hi, I would try to pull the fender back with a comealong maybe bolt it to where the parking light is or somewhere up front and try to pull it striaght forward if that doesn't work mabe open the door and put a block of 2x4 between the fender and door then close the door GENTLY and put pressure on the fender to push it away from the door. WELL I HAVE A 86 F-250 THAT HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND FENDER WERE WEDGED TOGETHER ALONG WITH THE REAR OF THE CAB I TOOK A PRY BAR AND PRYED THE FENDER AND THE DOOR LOOSE IT NOW OPENS BUT DOING THAT WONT MAKE YOUR TRUCK LOOK VERY PRETTY. I JUST REPLACED MY DRIVERS SIDE FENDER ON MY F-150 ITS NOT HARD TO DO ITS JUST FORD PUTS SO MANY NUTS IN ODD PLACES. ANYWAY I GOING ON IF YOU WANT IT TO LOOK GOOD I SAY GO TO A JUNK YARD GIND A TRUCK LIKE YOURS AND IN GOOD SHAPE AND TAKE THE FENDER IT WONT COST MUCH.AND ITS BETTER THAN BENDING A FENDER AROUND.
