thanks for all your help
I added a skyjacker 1-1/2 add-a-leaf to my truck for 130.00 from Auto Anything there a sponser here.
I believe you can also get different size shocks. I also want to raise up my trucks back end. It sits a little lower than front but when I put my quad and camping gear it goes even lower. I am looking to add Bilstein shocks to the rear but an add a leaf will work great also.
I would just measure your truck because on a stock truck they have leveling kits you can buy so there is a normal front end rake. I believe they sell different height leveling kits from 1"-3". If you have a 6" lift you can probably just add 1"-2" or more to the back unless you want it perfectly level. As a matter of fact they have a Pro Comp add a leaf set on sale at 4 Wheel Parts .http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...&t_pn=EXP13134. It adds 1.5 to 2.5 inches and strengthens your leaf springs.
That's why I posted the link yesterday to 4 Wheel Parts. They had 25% off and free shipping. The Pro Comp Add a leaf set to raise back end 1.5"-2.5" was only $73. If you put them on yourself that is about as inexpensive as you are gunna get on raising the back end. That sale might be over now, they change all the time.
I just added a pro comp add-a-leaf kit to my 06' stx. I had put a 3" fat bob's levelling lift in the front, wich made the front slightly higher than the back. Then I put an A.R.E. truck cap on and that made the difference obvious. So I put on the leaf kit. Not to bad except the bolt that holds the front spring in place on the driver's side was butted up against the gas tank. So when you remove the nut, the bolt won't pull out unless you drop the tank down. Not sure if they are all like that or if mine was just assembled incorrectly on the assembly line. If it weren't for that, if would have been pretty easy. But here on Ft. Benning there is an awesome auto skills shop with bays complete with lifts and every tool you need for @ $4.00 an hour. At the end of the day, the truck now sits perfect.
The rear in the pro comp lift is a block. The 2 cheapest options are to get the add a leaf kit, or change out the pro comp block that came with the kit for a larger pro comp block. I believe the kit block is 3", Ive heard pro comp offers a 5.5" block as a replacement.
