I was looking through some old pictures of gassers and I really like the "look" of the raised front end. It si very different from the standard "lowered all around" or "jacked up in the back". And I have never been a big fan of the "4X4 in the sky" look.
So what would be involved in raising the front end of my 1977 F-100 and lowering the rear to get that GASSER-look? Is there a simple way to accomplish this without actually going to a new front end?
I figured I could take out a leaf in the rear and slightly raise the front and the affect would be the same.
I bought this truck just like this, haven't touched it except put a rear axle under it. True gassers had the front and rear wheels moved ahead also, and usually fenderwell exit headers. When I saw this truck I thought it was hideous but had good parts on it. Now I love it, and plan on given it the Gasser look, it's already got a good start, but it will be lowered when I'm done, it's a little too high all around. Good luck on your project whatever you do.
Whitewalls and solid wheels, oh yea.
