I love my 08 F250. Really the only thing I dislike about it is the crappy milage and the tiny fuel tank. I haven't done any towing yet, but under power towing a load I suspect you can watch the fuel gauge move. I need a larger fuel tank. I'd like for it to mount somewhere besides the bed. After all If you fill the bed with a fuel tank, what's the use of having a pickup. I know there are some out there, and I've looked at websites, but I want to hear from those of you who actually have a tank installed. Thanks
As I understand it, the Titan is a direct replacement for the stock tank. Is everything included? I know that there is a shield that is optional. I'm gonna have my dealership install this the next time my truck is serviced, and I want to be sure everything is in the box so I don't get a phone call saying that they can't complete the instillation because they don't have X,Y, or Z. I don't have the place or the know how, or really the interest to do it my self.
Have the Titan Tank (from Extreme Diesel) - my son and I put it in in 2-3 hours. Biggest issue was reinstalling the fuel lines in the top of the tank as clearance is tight. Just make sure the vent lines aren't kinked or you'll have a heck of a time filling the tank (don't ask...) . Best mod we've done and no warranty issues!! Should have come with a bigger tank- 30 gallons is ridiculous!!
We've had it for over a year- great range especially when towing! Highly recommended!
Now if we can figure out how to improve the headlights...
(do a search as there is a good thread with lots of pix showing the install of the Titan.)
Just put the Titan tank on 4 days ago and was impressed with the ease of install. Did it all on a hoist with a tranny jack so that made life easy but aside from that it went really smooth and took 2hrs with 2 guys. But that was with 30min of head scratching with the instructions and the t's you have to put in the breather lines. Had no problems disconnecting everything and it all went back together as easy as it came apart. Truck fills right to the top now and I can go 1400km between fills. One thing I noticed is that the bottom part of the tank goes VERY quick now and almost ran out of fuel the first time because I wasn't used to it. I recommend filling when it says 100km til empty. Good Luck
So the Titan kit comes with new tank sensors on feul level?
I've been looking to upgrade too as the 30 gal is a joke
besides mine says 25 miles to empty and only takes 22 gals to fill
when I'm getting 14 mpg, It hasnt been right since day 1
You use your old sending unit. The tank is the same depth where the sending unit goes in but is deeper on either side therefore the extra vent lines. In other words the factory tank has one vent line whereas the titan has two high spots requiring the extra vent line so it can fill completely. After mine clicks off when filling usually only will take less than 2 gallons to fill to the filler neck.

Don't believe the trip. Built in to make you think you're emptier than you are so you don't run her dry. Pointless if you ask me but Toyota do it too...
So when you're tanks are full, does your distance til empty still say less than 400 miles with that 51 gallon tank? Those long box tanks are huge at 67 gallons!

Yep. Mine usually is 450-500 to empty. Then after the milage goes down some it will reset to what it was, sometimes 3-4 times before the guage moves off full and then it will reset at the 1/2 mark as well but not to the full tank milage.
