Shift kits

I have been looking at shift kits for my 04 lightning. I dont beleive there is but you guys would know, is there any kind of torque management?

My truck is still all stock except for a cold air intake. What I am wanting is the quicker shifts and when i lay on it to keep rolling the tires over into second, instead of the tires catching between shift. i have had some people say just get a programmer and bump up the line pressure and i have read that is bad on the pump.

Any suggestions?

You want a modified valve body accumulator.

Factory Tech (FTVB) is a common choice, as is an LFPVB (Lightning Force valve body), and one from Brian at BTS.

is that applicable to the 04+ tranny as well?

I hate how my truck regains traction during the 1-2 shift.

The OP stated he had a 2004 Lightning, which has the 4R100, so if you're talking about the '04 Lightning, then yes, it applies to the '04 tranny too.

DMP (Dante's Modular Performance)
FTVB (Factory Tech)
LFP (Built by Circle D for Lightning Fast Performance)
Circle D (a tranny shop in Texas owned by Chris)
Punisher (a Ford Tech)
JLP (Johnny Lightning)
...there's more I can't remember....

sorry, I was talking about the 2004+ New Body Style F-150. Not the 2004 Old Body style

but is this a part that you can find pretty much use across the Ford transmission line? or am I SOL since it was most likely developed just for the Lightning tranny

The 4R100 is found behind the Gen 2 L's and the 7.3L PSD's. Modified VB's are sold by the various Lightning vendors and PSD vendors for the respective vehicles.

2004 F-150 has the 4R70W in most of them.
There are plenty of valvebodies available.
Then they switched to the 5R55.
Valvebodies are available for those too.
Most Mustang parts retailers carry them since they are also found in GTs
