Flutter Noise on Deceleration:
Some 03-06 trucks may exhibit a fluttering noise from the air filter assembly on deceleration. This is a characteristic of the engine and posses no problems with the engine or turbo. No repair should be attempted. Broadcast Messages 1046, 4818
This condition should be intermittent and typically occurs when the accelerator is quickly released after a hard acceleration. If the flutter occurs at every deceleration, under load or at upshift on acceleration, suspect a sticking VGTurbo actuator or turbo vane ring.
yes it hesitates but i have recently changed my fuel filters this shudder seems to be getting worsei tire rods seem good u joints to .thinking tranny with tow hale on it seems not as bad . when pulling higher rpm smothes out shudder till u lift foot off gas or tranny jumps up a gear
I'll bump this for you, but you really should post a message in the other (duplicate) thread you started - say something like "delete this thread due to another thread being active". Then you could post a link to this thread.
Also - I gave you a suggestion in post #8 - not sure what your thoughts were on it.
Try to see if you have any codes (any auto parts store can read them - except I do not think they can read the detailed tranny codes).
Can you give more detail as if it drive line vibration maybe or engine related. Crew Cab long bed or short bed, all the information you can provide helps.
Slip yokes tend to become dry and bind, that is why I ask.
I merged both threads to take car of your questions.
It sounds like the same problem that i was having on my 03 F250. It ended up being related to the EGR valve and it had to be replaced. mine would shutter around 2300rpms.
Do you notice it more when under a load or not.

Hey Maximum, Spuzzum1 is away from PC but we are neighb's and i have some insight to its history. Truck is Crewcab, long bed, not many miles on new engine.
I have driven the truck and from my impression its transmission, possible torque converter. When the shutter starts it appears the convertor is doing its thing shifting between gear on incline or release off pedal. Another to mention is its worse when in overdrive per say. Believe there is some misunderstanding on what selection his gear shift is in and use of the OD switch on selector arm during lower speeds town driving. He has ran ODB2 scan tool with no codes appearing, reset computer and many others trying to figure issue. Do the sensors on transmission show trouble code when scanning?
