Y-blockhead, your engine is cool. I and probably others would like to know more. Give us the works, it may help some to decide on directionsfor a future build.
1. What is the roller rocker ratio, and did you have to do anything special
on their installation.
2. What cam are you running and spring pressures, degrees advanced-
retarded.
3. Pistons, cast flat tops, hypereutectics or forged?
4. Milling performed and end CR?
5. Valve setup?
6. 292, 312 or stroker?
7. Anything special on the oil pump or fuel pump?
These are random questions of interest.
Plus anything else you want to throw in, like estimated HP, torque, things you wish you would or would not have done, etc.
I just thought it would be very helpful after looking at the pics in your gallery, and hope it isnt offensive.
I've got two y-blocks, #1 I rebuilt in hi-school, 1983. It's a 56merc 312. Totally stock, gone through. It runs great and sits in a 1954 tudor w 3sp od. I've never had a problem with it in these 20+ yrs. The other is a 1960 merc 312 that was totally junk. I did everything I could in 1985 to this one, runs good with Isky f300 cam. Sits in 1956 f100, ramhorns, new holley avenger last year. Cam did go flat once and Isky sent me hardface overlaid cam no charge, in about 1988. I've had numerous others over the years, but I'll always keep these two. Fun to think back on all that grease and stuff I went through.

That is impressive. You must have done things right, with 20 and 25 years on them.
