hey guys, i have a question regarding the automatic transmission in my truck. first off it is a 2006 F350, it has a programmer in it, a 4" exhaust, and an air box. (not sure if this info is needed) Anyway, the transmission shifts really mushy from 2nd to 3rd and some time 3rd to 4th. in other words before it shifts form 2nd to 3rd, you can feel the shift out of 2nd, but the RPM revs about 400 rpm higher before it actually goes into 3rd. i hope this isnt too confusing...............any help is greatly appreciated.........
the only reason i ask is because i have very little miles before the warrenty runs out..
Thanks alot
Chris

When was the tranny serviced last? How many miles on the truck? I think I'd look toward getting the tranny serviced - full flush. If you've still got warranty, I'd get in the shop and let them check it out. Also, what kind of tuner? Not all of them address the tranny in their programs. If it's revving between gears, I would think there's something slipping somewhere. One of the transmission gurus should be along soon.
I had an Edge Juice w/Attitude installed with 17 miles on the odometer. A little later, the transmission starting slipping between shifts. I removed the tuner and dumped the KAM so I could cheat the dealer and get the tranny fixed on warranty.
I never did take it to the dealer. As soon as I got in it after removing the tuner, it quit slipping. It now has 119,000 trouble free miles.

its a Preditor program. and the truck has 105,000 KM(not miles). also we took the programmer out during the winter and it was still acting up. the trans has never been flushed as far as i now of. the truck tows a 48 foot enclosed car trailer with 2 race cars. in other words i work this trucks ***** off!! the only concern i have is that it will run OKAY until the warrenty runs up. than the tranny will puke and ill be stuck with a 5000$ trans bill.
The PCM controls most functions of the engine and transmission. A re-flash will ensure that you have the latest programming and may address the shift issue with your transmission.
