has anyone here any info on making a tube box frame.... I'm thinking about just hanging box sides on a tube frame. Any advice/pictures would help me out allot thanks.

You gonna cage this thing? Gonna tie into the cab?
I guess this is entirely up to your imagination, and what you intend to do with the truck. Know that steel sides are still pretty heavy so some heavy duty stuff will have to be installed. You are not saving that much weight either. Just that the mud cant collect inside of the bed any longer. You can at least fit some nice lonf travel shocks back there after a mod like this though.
I dunno, its an option.
I built a pipe box/frame for a toyota 4x4 once, its was just a light trail truck and everyday beater for work,I used 2 inch heavy exhaust pipe and hung fiberglass sides on it,made the bar that went up behind the cab for a roll bar out of 3/16 wall 2 inch and tied that directly to forward box mounts, everyone said I was crazy, but when it was done it looked good.I would think you would want to use heavier pipe then that for the size of truck, and check into finding some glass box sides.and unless your sure you never want to put a real box back on the truck, make your pipe box mount to the original holes for the box, instead of welding and or cutting to make it work.
