Fuel filter

Ok I was trying to change my fuel filter on my 97 ford F250 and i could not get the hoses to slide off to get the old one off. After 2 hours i got it but ended up breaking the end of the flex hoses.

Ok first question

Whats the easy way to change this filter ?

Also can i get some new flex hoses to put back on the gas line ? Im probably gonna have to cut the gas line and use a compression fitting of some kind.

thanks

It should be a procedure similar to what I did on my '04. Basically you need the release tools (can be had at any parts store) to get the hoses off and put the new filter in place of the old one.

See this link for complete info....
2004 F250 Fuel Filter Replacement

Not sure what's involved now though since you broke one of the flex hoses....

Good luck.

Great link Jason! I'll have to purchase a set of those disconnect tools the next time I go to the parts store (NAPA).

Thats what i was missing the TOOL.

I just pryed them off. I broke the clamp looking thing off one side and the whole end came apart on the other.

Its gonna be a pain in the **** to get the one off the gas tank side and replaced.

Man all i wanted to do is tune this thing up.

Where did you locate the filter under the hood ? It dont look like i have much more room with that big motor.
