1994 crown-vic Fuel line fix

Hello all

Mt wife's 94 Crown vic needs some help.
The fuel lines on the sending unit are rusted and leaking and the flex lines are shot as well, I'm thinking of cutting them off, cleaning up the sending unit lines and adding some high psi fuel hose with two clamps at each end. I know this is not the right way, but the right way woud involve a new tank, sending unit and flex lines all of witch adds up to way more than the $25 I have in my bank.

So I'm looking for ideas on what to do and if this repair sounds ok, I know it's not what I'd like to do but I got to get her going again at least till spring.

Just go to a junkyard and buy some new lines. It should be a pretty cheap fix.

Otherwise, it sounds like you could use high pressure rubber hoses, but I would be careful and make sure that all of your connections are really good. Good luck.

I think I'll go the hose route, I just hope they hold. Has anyone done this?

Safety first when it comes to fuel lines. Do it right or park it. What's your wife's life worth? Have you ever seen a fuel fire?

If you know any "seasoned" techs, they should be able to take straight steel tubing and bend it to fit (I'm lucky enough to have one of these guys working in my shop). It won't be $25, but it would be a heck of a lot less than buying fuel lines from Ford Parts.
