I have a 1979 F-150 6.6 V-8. The problem is this: when I turn the lights on all the lights turn on fine. the back left and right front turn signals work, the front right and back right don't. The flashers stay solid when I turn them on and only the front left and back work. It can't be the bulbs because the lights turn on in the back, just the signals and when I press the brakes they don't do anything. What could this be? Thank you!
Very first thing is go to every corner, secure and clean the grounds. Almost every problem I have had with lights have been a ground problem. Make sure body and frame are grounded to each other both the front end and the bed.
it could be the flasher cam in the steering column or a bad ground but most likley the cam easy fix and pretty cheap,,check lmc, dennis carpenter, or maybe even autozone
I second checking the grounds, i had a similar problem after i painted my frame and put the bed back on. I ran a wire from the bed to a screw through the frame and all my problems went away since i now had a good solid ground connection.
and would the bad ground really be why the brake lights don't come on when I push the brake? The light works because when I turn the lights on it comes on and the brake light is the same bulb...
to replace the cam you do have to remove the steering wheel your local autozone should have a steering wheel puller and regarding your brake lights,,did you check the switch thats on the pedal?
