Got my cab set on tonight.........
Well i have been hard at work since 11 30 this morning after i got out of school. Got the old cab off, and got the orange cab sent down on it...

Nice work, Shane. Looking good! Don't tell me that finding a cab in just the right color was simply luck, though. That would be too perfect...and waaaaay too easy.
So what's it like to have friends to help you?
At my house, there's no such thing as something not being a one-man job!
BTW- I noticed the discarded Mountain Dew carton in the 6th pic...I think it must be the unofficial "fuel" of working on old stuff.

Looking good; also the Mt dew was motivation fuel for the boy's during work time. Shane's a smart man not have the after work refreshments avaiable while on the clock. I think the old cab was / is in better shape than the one on my daily driver.
I got the floor pans cut out of my 78 model finish this evening; now time for rust- proofing the inner side of the cab mounts from floor board side and then weld in new floor pans myself.

Orange!
I have a '76 orange F150. Apparently it was a really popular color option back then. My wife hates the way it looks in front of our blue house!!
Looks like you have a blue house to comlement the orange as well... Good luck with the build. You'll have a workhorse. I love mine.

it took me and 3 other ppl to lift the cab with everything we had.. i estimate it weighs around 600-700lbs, oh and it is front heavy, wants to tip forward really bad when it is picked up

Yeah, but we can't have TOO much fun working on these things...then we have to try even harder to keep a straight face when someone asks us how grueling the job was!

Hell yea thats actually what im going to school for. An Auto Tech, going in for toyota ya i know what ur goin to say, but im looking into my future and they seem to be doing well

I've been there, built mine in the back yard the first time too! I remember how it was heavy in front too. But one cool thing you can do now that we did, was put the seat back in the old cab, buckle up, and have your freinds try and roll you down the hill! It stops very quicly once it lands on it back side haha. Had some fun in my junk cab thats for sure. One question for ya though, whats up with the chevy orange valve covers?
