Aussie Heads?

Has anyone used these Aussie heads on their small block? The reason I ask is I read they are excellent SB heads and I have a chance to get a set. The guy is asking 2 grand but he will negotiate. I'm running a 69-70 351W 4V with stock heads. They look new?

Is there anything special that I need to know or steer clear of?

Tim

They're nowhere near as good as most aftermarket heads and are really only worth anything when professionally ported. Even then they wouldn't flow as much as Dart Iron Eagles would right out of the box, which you can get for about $1200-1400 a set brand new.

Thanks Paul,
Just to pick your brain, there a set of GT40P heads, pushrods, and twisted manifolds for sale on Craigslist up here for $150 bucks. They are off of a 98 Mountaineer. I don't have a roller ready block will these work?

what aussie heads? Aussie heads are referred to as 351 cleveland 2bbl heads. But for $2000 you must be talking about chi /cylinder head innovations?

The add said they were drilled and would fit 302 or 351 so I assumed Windsor?

What are the twisted manifolds? Exhaust manifolds? In any event the heads will bolt on after the bolt holes are drilled out to 1/2". The pushrods are no good to you but exhaust manifolds may be, and the heads alone are a steal at $150 if they don't have a lot of miles on them.

I went back to craigslist to get the pictures and the add was pulled. I guess it's a mute point now. Thanks for the help though.

for iron heads the rhs are good, never had a set of darts in front of me but they have a good reputation. For street performance, trick flow twisted wedge or afr 165 are very good for aluminum.
