Supposedly I have a bd transmission in my truck but I want to find out for sure but I need the serial number to do it and don't know where exactly to find it. Also if it was an aftermarket transmission would it be stamped with ford on it, I really don't think that it would be but I may be wrong. Any help?
are you able to track down the orignal owner or the store that sold it? for paper work. i would immagine that bd would have some kind of mark if they did the rebuild. what did they say?
Ok thanks alot guys. I called the stealership and they bought it from another place that wouldn't give the info of the prior owner for privacy act info. I called bd and they said if i had his name they could tell me or get the serial number but not sure where it is I will contact the BD guy. Thanks alot.

That's strange. In Ky, the stealerships are suppose to provide you with the name and contact information if you want, so you can call the previous owner with any questions you might have. That must vary from state to state.
