door rebuild ?
I am in the process of rebuilding the doors (all four, crew cab) of my truck and when I dissasembled the guts of the door, all parts working mechanically. But they have 25 years worth of dirt and grime. What is the best solvent to clean these parts with and then what to spray on to them as a lubricany sealer before re-assembly? thanks

Okay this is a cheating way but it works. Bring the guts to a pressure car wash (be sure to remove all the rubber gaskets) and soak them with spray gunk....use the old $2.50 car wash pressure washer on them. Kerosene and a stiff brush works good too but hard to dispose of. Coat the door assembly with LPS 3 not 2 or 1 use the 3. The LPS3 will leave a waxy self sealing film on the parts.
