X2 on YES use a hack saw blade with some tape as a handle and yes blue mask tape the part your arm rests on and all the way around the panel to prevent scratches.

I hope you have the plastic push pins and NOT the metal ones. Metal ones are a PITA. Or just get a door panel removal tool.

Or make one out of a large #4 flat tip with a V notched in the end and a 45 bend 3" up from the end. Or just pray, steady pull pressure, and finger tips on each side of the pin.

Use these come replacement time, GM ones are longer. Also notch the door panel behind the finger cup to clear the 2 bolt heads. No worries the finger cup covers it. That way it will fit tighter, also get some metal finger cups from LMC way better.

I reinforce the plastic tab under the finger cup.

what moron would do this=do ya think there would be a market for fiberglass replacement rear door panels=I got an idea=take a good one from both sides or messed up ones, fix the damage , then make plaster molds , wax the molds, and spray in gel coat wait til cures then lay up fiberglass cloth, I have created fiberglass molds for stuff in the past, reinforce the mounting tabs

I am sure there is a market for something that is NOT reproduced. Now is there any profit margin... that is another question.
