You can get by with just a leveling kit and make sure you don't get anything wider than 12.5" with the correct wheel offset. If you run 18" wheels that are 9" wide or less, Toyo makes a 285/75/18 which is a 35x11.50.

What is the widest tire that can be run on an 18X9 wheel... 11.5, 12.5, 13.5, or 14.5?
Personally I wouldn't go past a 12.5" tire, but some will say a 13.5" is fine. Manufacturers usually list the recommended wheel width, and if they don't go to Toyo's website and find a comparable size and look it up there.
Toyo Tires recommends a wheel width of 8.5" - 11.0" for the 37X13.5R18LT Open Country M/T, which is the same recommended wheel width for the 35X12.5R18LT. My wheel width is on the low end but acceptable. Thanks!
35x13.5 is a 325x65/18, pretty popular on these trucks with 4-6" lift. I went with a 35x12.50 because I didn't want to be slinging mud all over the side of my truck.

It was that slung mud issue that prompted me to purchase the 18X9 wheel size. I could have purchased a 18X10 wheel size but the offset/back spacing would have thrown even more mud up on the truck.
I just put a set of Michelins (265x7516E) on my 250 for a touch less than your BFGs...I got them at Sam's Club.
I had a set of Mastercrafts (the economy Cooper line) that got me 49K miles. This is the first set of Michelins I've ever bought. Since it's a King Ranch I figured they were worth trying. Time will tell.
I've already noticed that the Mastercrafts seemed to be stiffer when taking corners...even when worn to the point of needing replacement. The Michelins are absolutely squishy in those higher speed turns.

I put about 3 sets of michelin lt tires on my last truck and they handled the weight really well, my truck was about 12,000 lbs with srw. they are good quality tires. The rubber is softer than the coopers, and I had a set of 4 mastercraft courser 10 ply tires on one of my company trucks and 3 out of the 4 threw the treads off and one tore up the fuell fill neck, and one of them folded up the rear quarter panel.
