Question Pcm

Has anyone ever rerouted their PCM to a different location in their truck, as in extending the wire harness? If you have, did you have problems? Or did the increased resistance in wiring and connectors not cause it to do anything funny.

I haven't heard of anyone doing that. You would have to have perfect splices though as the PCM is pretty picky about signals from sensors. A voltage drop of .2 of a volt would be a big deal for the accuracy of the sensors/PCM

My reasoning is that i might be pulling it again in the near future by maybe several times for the upgrades i have for it. Also, when i pulled my old one, i had such a bad time pulling it out i ended up bending the bracket that it sits on, so now even though i can't see the blockage that is preventing it from going back into place, it will only go back into its little hole half way. Which makes me frustrated and now i just want it somewhere else, somewhere easy to get to. Plus when removing it loosening the inner fender well isn't enough, you also half to bend really far before there is sufficient room for removal and install. Don't want it sitting around outside because it was originally inside the cab, unless I found some kinda sealed box or something to put it in, but then it probably needs ventilation to. I can see small vents built in. What to do. What to do.

You can see where the PCM goes into if you remove the E-brake pedal. Just take 3 or 4 bolts out and lay it down. Why are you having to remove the PCM for upgrades and what type of upgraderequires that you remove it?
