I just recieved my second letter too.
I'll call them today and see if I cannot get taken off the list.
If that doesn't work, I am going to put my spare grey one back in, then go to the dealer and show them.
I don't want them to know that I have a good black CPS from a while back that I purchase long before this recall ever came out.
Why are the black ones better? I can't tell the difference between my black and grey other than the POS black was taking a sht again after less than a year.
The vehicle owner is responsible for having this service action performed. Ford Motor Company reserves the right to deny coverage for any vehicle damage that may result from failure to have this recall perfromed on a timely basis. Therfore, please have this recall performed as soon as possible.
If I remember right, the recall did not come along until there was a significant push in it being a safety issue (failing in the middle of a intersection, on the highway at speed, etc..). Is this their Lawyer's method of absolving them of liability?

The gray ones have been causing a few problems. Search around here and you'll find them easy.

I have a failing black that I might put in and then take it down there. Have them put the gray in, drive it home and put my good black one back in. Then I'll have two grays, a blue and a black in the truck.

How often do they fail and should I have a spare?
How easy is it to install? How much are they?
They are are 20 bucks. Takes longer to round up the tools than it does to make the swap.
I was able to just walk in and get one at my local dealership parts counter. At first they tried to tell me they didn't know of any recall but after I called their B.S. they handed over the part.

I got the same letter.
Tried to get the dealer to just give me a CPS but they wouldn't. I don't want them touching my truck.
Got a black cps today from a local parts supplier. Has anyone done a ohm check on a good black one? If anyone has, could you post the terminals and ohm readings for the unit. Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread. This cps was made in Mexico. Lee
I called the dealer and told them that I already have a grey one installed and please remove me from this list.
They said: "OK, we will do so."
I didn't tell them that the grey one is my spare one and that I am still running on my International black one.
