Looks good! If you get a chance take a look at the firewall on the F100 that won Best of Show at the Western Nationals in 2009...he has a similar script on that truck and it looks sweet like yours.
Its not the original tailgate. I bought it new from Hot Rods Trucks. I still have the original but it was a matter of cost. It was less expensive to replace than fix up the original.
I have raised-letter script lettering on my '51. It's going to the paint shop soon, which means that lettering will need to be repainted. I wonder if there is a stencil available somewhere for this. Otherwise, it's going to be a very tedious process to tape it off.
On a raised letter panel you can take a small paint roller, put the paint on a piece of card board and roll through the paint till you have the roller almost to a dry point then roll on the raised panel, you won't have any run and the paint will level out as it dries and you can pin stripe around or just leave it, sometimes it takes more than one coat to cover ---BUT--- do not use too much paint on the roller at a time, all it will paint is the raised part of the panel and looks great, Garry
