hi all,
yes those ZF TRANNYS are heavy. specially with the transfer case bolted to it.
your better off gettin' your hands on a tranny jack. and a strap...
Hi Jack,
I took the transfer case off. I built a cradle for my floor jack for lowering and raising transmissions, works pretty good. This is my snowplow truck so naturaly everything was rusted and stuck. The studs in the exhaust manifolds had rusted away from 7/16 to about 1/4", twisted right off dispite heat. Coupler where the line fastens onto the slave wouldn't budge, guess I'll get a new master and line too.
hi pete,
i just push the collar in with a couple of screwdrivers. and it should uncouple from the slave cylinder. kind of a poor design if you ask me.. i've done 2 in my ranger and countless others at the tranny shop i worked at.
OK Who ordered the snow for the weekend? It will be a good weekend to get some inside wook done. I need to runa 220 outlet for the planner and change the compressor over to 220.
