97 ford expedition

I Have A 97 Ford Expedition Tha Is Cutting Out, I Changed The # 4, #6, #7 Coils And It Ran Good For Awhile, But It Is Starting To Do It Again. The OBD 2 Code Is PO 446. The Book Says It Is Evaporative Emission Control, Vent Control Circuit Malfunction But I Am New To This And Have No Idea What It Is Talking About. Can Somebody Help Me Please..... Also Tell Me How To Change The Heater Hoses Because 1 Is Leaking On The #4 Coil Thank You

It Could Be One Of The Heater Hoses Leaking On Top Of The Coil, That What My Problem Is I Think. Check It If You Smell Antifreeze.....

I did some research on this and it seems many have this same problem during rainy seasons. Here is another thread where the owner took it a step further and actually ran some water down the windshield to watch exactly how the water drips into the engine area and sure enough it drips right on the driver side bank of coils

I'm just now having the problem with the coil pack I'm not quite sure how it went out I drove it around one day didn't drive it the next and started it up and I had a misfire because of it. I noticed some people are saying wet weather can contribute to it and it was raining on the day before it went out. for everyone with the 5.4 tritons any tips or tricks to make them run and last longer because I know they are known for many problems. it currently has around 168,000 miles.

COP's are subject to failure just like any other part ever made for anything. The only reason a COP would show a DTC related to weather is if one or more of the boots have degraded and the spark short circuiting to the cylinder head and not firing the plug. Have the plugs ever been changed--some try to wring 100K miles out of a set but I don't let mine go past 60K---rarely have had any COP failures not due age. Were the boots inspected/replaced as needed?

The key to longevity to a vehicle is regular maintenance what includes a visual inspection of almost everything. The 5.4 motors are NOT known for "many problems" unless we're talking about lack of maintenance?

Were the #5 spark hole threads ever repaired due to being stripped out or a spark plug blowing out?
