Spindle removal problem!!!!

I started taking apart my 94 Bronco to replace the ball joints. I got down to the spindle removal step when I ran into a problem. I removed the 5 spindle nuts and the anti-lock sensor, but the spindle won't budge. I used some PB Blaster and tapped the spindle mounting plate to loosen it up to no avail. Anyone have a tip to help get the spindle off?

I've had some that have been rusted together, had to beat on it with a block of wood and a big hammer, you don't want to ruin that spindle thread so be careful maybe get someone to hold the wood block while you hit also try hitting in diferent positions like down then up then right etc. while using you pb blaster.

Thanks for the info. I assume your talking about hitting the arm part of the spindle rather than the mounting plate.

yes further out on the end as far as you can make sure you wire wheel it and put some anti seize on it when it goes back together.

I used an air chisel to pop off the plate. Also, on my 93' there is the screw on the back side that threads into the spindle plate besides the ABS sensor.I did this job last summer on my 93'.Local mechanic told me he uses air chisel also.

Be careful takin' the spindles off using a chisel between it and the knuckle. You'll destroy the disc brake dust shields. Mine were rusted anyway and new ones cost 150+ from a dealer. I couldn't find them aftermarket.

The hammer and a piece of wood worked wonders. Thanks for the tip.
