Hey Kalashtar,
get a load of liquid wrench and spray the bearing area down. Go to auto zone and rent the bearing removal tool (a slide hammer with bearing puller). It makes the job 100% easier.
After you get the bearing out, clean the area well. When installing the new bearing, make sure you grease it well with high temp bearing grease. You can rent a special tool to install the bearing but I used a 1 1/8" socket to seat it correctly(flat, square, straight, etc.), tapping it in with a hammer.
Put plenty of bearing grease in the cavity and reinstall, and you should be good to go.
Thanks I got them out. One was completely rusted and frozen with some missing rollers. The axle shaft on that side has some play where it goes through the new bearing, the other side axle shaft seems fine (tried it with both new bearings). Is that
axle shaft ruined?
