Do 5 passenger Screws with a permanent console have this compartment, or is it only under the lift-up center console?

Yep. It's in all with the 40/20/40 seat.

Ever since I got mine, I have wondered why FORD didn't utilize this space. I tuck stuff under from behind the seat...... (Regular Cab)

After 3 pulls on my middle seat, each progressively harder, it popped loose. Sure enough, somewhere to hide my "whatevers". A dog would surely smell anything illegal in there, it isnt air tight at all. I was hoping the previous owner would have left something in their for me.

Thanks for the nugget of insight. Man that spot is great for the jumper cables. My clamps on the cables are always hooking an extension cord or getting wrapped up with my work stuff... and I never use them! I know if I take them off the truck that's when "it" will happen. I am going to stuff those in that beautiful little spot. Also, man that makes cleaning down the seat rail a breeze.

I pulled the seat bottom out about three years ago and have not put it back since. I use the space for just about anything that will fit. I have a power inverter permanently mounted. Other than that it makes for a good "junk" drawer.

For those with a center console (but not floor shifter), the little plate on the front of the console pops right off which makes it much more usable. You can also pop the front console cupholder "holder" (the big black piece holding the two inserts) out for cleaning.

I just need something that will help me better organize my console. It's a mongolian mess in there.
