My wife got me a Pioneer detatch face CD player for Christmas and I'm only now getting around to installing it. I've run a search on the forum for finding out what mounting kits I can use, and have found nothing. I talked to one of my Ford buddies, and he said he'd used an 88-93 Volvo something-or-other, which could be got thru Crutchfield. I searched it there and found zip. So just wondering what people on the site have done for installing aftermarket CD players. My truck is a '70. If it comes down to it, I guess I could just fab something out of sheet metal or aluminum.

Your buddy was right. Keep searching for the Volvo kit. That what I used in my 70. It worked well and was a good fit. Had to bend back the " ears " for the original radio shafts. After that, was easy install. Done in less that an hour. Hope this helps you.
I cut out the chrome bezel on my last bumpside, it worked okay, on this one i'll fill the radio hole and start from scratch, cut the hole for my radio then a bracket to support the rear of it. I don't know how it will work out but I am looking forward to doing it.
