Help!?

ok as listed in my sig are my mods, my truck has been running amazing and its 300+ km so i fueled up today, driving home i saw a tad more black then usual... then i go to the gym and 50m it dies after jerking bad, and puking out black smoke, its also about -20c outside, it died within the same amout of distance after restarting, then i arrived, i go to leave runs fine get about 50m and bam dies also it blows crap load of black like my air filter has been plugged with newspaper but i run the napa 6637 i beleive its called, and i heard the turbo boost high without even going over 40km, like dont get me wrong i love black smoke, but not like this, also it throws a code, stays on for awhile, even while restarting, then goes away and shortly comes back... i cannot test the code, unless the napa code reader actually works, for i live in a 3000 person town if that. thanks in adcance

I would say swap the filter and see how she runs.

A CPS going bad the truck would not even start. or turn.. the dash would light up and thats all. you will know when thats going bad. You can get a new one for about $20 from.... jeez.. I think jody at DP Tuner, but don't quote me on that

Sounds like it happened right after fueling so i would search out the fuel system. Might call the station where you bought the fuel and see if others have had any problems.

haha i didnt buy it sorry i missed a tad part, we deal with our logging trucks which are full of fuel but are not running due to the economy, so i just grab it from them... so i should replace filter? i talked to friends dad who replaced cps, said he had same symptoms though? but fuel filter sounds correct to me if you cant even drive with the cps gone...

Fuel filters are cheap comparatively. If I suspect the fuel system that is the first thing I change. If you take it to a shop that charges $65-90 an hour and it's a $20 fuel filter you kinda messed up.

That would be fine. Maybe a little diesel 911 in the fuel bowl and tank just in case.

Free fuel? Are you filtering this? If not I filter all mine from my source. I could give you some tips on the best way to get it filter good.

What are you pumping it will? 2" Pumps or a 12v pump on a fuel barrel??

Man something aint right. You need to pull codes asap. HPOP could be weak, clogged air filter, fuel filter. I'd get the codes pulled first after you change the fuel filter.

At your local farm center you can get a fuel filter housing for about $20 and filters for about $11.. put that on your fuel pump inbetween the pump and the filling handle.

I would not recommend the Grey "new" CPS. No one on here likes them. Stick with what you got, order a back up from Jody so if it ever goes you can swap in on the side of the road. very easy change.

also the fuel filter in on top of then engine
Welcome to guzzle's PSD Fuel Filter Change Web Page

I do not know why it's blowing black smoke I can't remember what color mine threw out.
