yea black smoke is unburnt fuel, thats why im thinking HPOP. Maybe its late and im thinking wrong, but might try unplugging the IPR and seeing if that does anything, not sure if it will tho

Trucks don't come stock with a filter on the frame rail, thats something added on. Try the CPS and see if that helps, it will make the truck do weird things

IPR means Injector Pressure Relay.. I'm bad with those.. if you unhook it and the truck still starts then it's bad.. Thats all I know someone will chime in and explain.

I understand it's frustrating to have your truck down, i've been getting help off of here on the side of the highway from my iphone before haha..

Thats the fuel pump on the frame rail, unless someone did the hutch mod and mounted an aftermarket filter

Directly to the right of that arrow, the two wire plug. Its on the back of the HPOP which is front and center of the top of the motor.

Yes and see if it helps. If it helps, it could point to that. Also, on edit to that post, its to the LEFT of the arrow, kinda hidden down in there.

Its that big brass piece. Thats a side view of the hpop
