If it's a Family/Friend "Party", flowers are a waste. Went through it with Nan and my father.. lots of $$ that could have gone to Hospice or Cancer that died in a pot a few days after the memorial ..
Justin or Sam or Kristen could point to a charity or a family need.
Just my 2cents.
That sounds like probably the best thing to do. What do we need to do now? I'm in for both. One account to buy the flowers and the rest to the family for expenses or if they choose, they can donate it where they want.
When my mother died just over a year ago, money was give to the church as "memorials" and it was used to buy things it needed. It helped pay for new carpet, roof repairs, and a pastor's stole (not sure if that's how it's spelled). Items were "dedicated" at a service in honor of the departed. It was a honor to see the money put to a worthwhile cause.
What about a small flower araingement.. then the rest to donation then..
Pat after talking to you this seems to be the best idea. Clay has offered to let us "funnel" it through his pay pal account. I'll call him this afternoon and get it set up. As soon as we get the exact arrangements. I'll call a flower shop in the area. I will cover the cost of the flowers so the donated money can go to the family to use as they see fit.
This all sounds like a good ider, really like Niels though the best but didn't Mark have issues with some or all of his family at one point or time. If true, sure wouldn't like it getting into the wrong hands, what do all think, or rememmber???

Hey Mike, Pat has been in contact with the family. He has shared some parts of it with me. I may even be stepping out of line by saying that part. A monetary donation to the family will be greatly appreciated by them and I am certain that it will be put to good use.
