I voted for donation through paypal. When my grandpa passed away there was so much money donated to my grandma that set up 2-3 seperate scholarships through our local farm bureau and FFA chapter. Flowers are nice also but after the first 50 bazaillion you just don't know what to do with them.
first vote would be one bad *** flower arrangement and e-card and maybe gift card for apple bee's or something.
second i vote to put up a collection from FTE for the family and let them decide what to do with it.
All ideas are good, but it would probably be the best to consult the family. I don't know if
he was still working or not. I'm guessing you all knew him well. 65 is still too young, I lost my pa at 61. My heart goes out to them. I'm sure you'll let us know.
Im in,I think maybe a nice floral arrangement from the FTE family, and ALSO a nice monetary donation to the family, the family might say not to,but ya know it would help. But hey,Im in for whatever just let me know.
Phil P.S. I think the 444 flower arrangement with a note saying what it is would really get some smiles....but I know that would probably be outta reach though
Pat knows the family members best and maybe we could ask him to do us one more favor and contact them. I feel that anything we do in Marks honor would be ok and the Semper Fi fund sounds like a great idea, but would like the families opinion.
They have a lot of expeneses to now cover.. the moving of the RV.. the tools.. anything elese he may have left down there. .. I am leaning towards a money gift..
By the way.. this is not a funeral.. it will be a party.. are flowers the right thing there??
The good news if it is the flowers.. they have a truck to bring them home in..
Barry.. the comment back there...the Democratic party... I am betting that left hand is working real well right now..
Gang, think we might to involve Ken and Tim in this. They have the means to set up whatever kind of account that we need and I know that they would be honored if we ask for help.
