hello, i have a 2000 f250 psd and i was changing my sway bar bushing and end links, and noticed 2 plugs 1 on each side of the truck in the front wheel wells. does anyone have any idea what these are for? also i went to tow something and i don't have a plug receptagle for the trailer, and last how do i hook up my brake controller... i know that is quite a list.... any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks and i love this site
Those plugs on the fender wells are for ABS wires, so you must not have front ABS.
Your truck should have had an OEM trailer wiring plug under the bumper but someone may have removed it. Look up by the spare tire, there should be a rectangular shaped plug up there somewhere- that is for the trailer wiring. If there is something plugged in there, follow the wires and see where they are. Somebody may have bashed the plug and just taken it off because they weren't using it
Trailer brakes- you should have an adapter harness inside the glove box (if not you can buy one). Buy a brake control, and buy or find that adapter harness. Mount the brake control where you want it, connect the like color wires, then pull the access panel off the dash and look over toward the center of the dash under the radio for the factory plug that your brake control harness plugs into.
