460 Base timing

460 Base timing
I just got my new 460 running in my 77F250. Not sure of where the base timing should be as the sticker under the hood is gone. I set it at 6 deg BTC for now and she seems to run good there. The engine has:
Rv cam
Weiand intake
Edelbrock 600 carb (will add 750 shortly)
Flat top pistons D3ve heads
Stock ignition (for now)
Stock exhaust manifolds (can't find headers to fit 460 Highboy 4x4)
Where do you guys run your timing?

I have seen in the books for stock anywhere from 6 to 14. I usually run mine around 10.
If it starts good and shuts off fast with no pinging when accelerating then its close.
I don't have any books on your truck to tell you for sure. Some one else here might.

With all your mods why do you think it would be close?
What cam are you using?
What's your compression?
Quench?
I have the cheap Summit 3500 and am using about 11* but my DSII distributor is recurved and has an adjustable vacuum advance.
My '87 calls for 8* @ 800 rpm on the emissions sticker. FWIW

I believe my compression is 9.5:1. I don't know cam specs, just seen it called "RV cam", I'll try and search for specs. The motor runs real good, no pinging, accelerates without any hesitation. I pulled spark plugs this past weekend and they look perfect after about 400 miles. I can't find anything on timing specs. The motor rebuilder recommended 30 deg of total timing at 2800 rpm but said nothing about base timing.
