Top Caliper Pins

Top Caliper Pins
Well ive been fighting this issue with the truck "seemingly" pulling to the right, but the alignment comes back all in spec. Im just wondering if my wheel needs set to center. So i pulled the front wheels to check for caliper drag. Neither wheel felt hotter than the other after driving.
I have an 04 STX
After pulling the caliper off, the guide pin on the bottom came right out. The top one i had to work a little bit, pushing, pulling, twisting. To get it out, both sides. The top pin has a rubber sleeve about an inch long that fits over the pin and sits in a recessed part of the pin. This rubber sleeve tries to slip over the the edge of the recess and it makes the pin really tight, even when i get the pin in with out the sleeve slipping over its tight. But if you take the sleeve off the pin is too loose in the caliper bracket. Is there a upgraded pin they use now for the top pin. Or can i get another bottom pin and use it up top. They are the same lenth and the bottom pin is just a straight pin. Im just wondering if these pins with the rubber sleeve are that tight that they are holding the caliper in?
See the one pin has a recessed area, that is where the rubber sleeve goes, but the other pin is just a straight pin, could i just use the straight pin from the kit and replace the upper pin with the rubber sleeve with the straight one to avoid the tightness?

Anyone, my local dealer has the kits so im was going to go get them. See when i had all the pins out i actually tried the lower pin in the upper pin hole. And it fit, so im thinking of just getting the kit and using the new bottom pins to replace the old rubber sleeved upper pins to keep the pin from sticking so much. Make sense? I dont see what the problem would really be if any.

hi,xjcamaro89
I see you still have same problem. I did check my caliper pins last week on driver side.my truck was pulling left.any way upper and lower pin did slide very smooth, i did pullout with my two fingers and pushed in sameway.i don't remember upper or lower pin had rubber sleeve on it .I will check passenger side tomorrow afternoon and let you know.did you know there was a TSB for front brakes. Mydealer replaced my front calipers, rotors and brake pads last summer. TSB number 05-21-19 I did print the tsb and showed to service guy, and new pads have springs on them to expends the pads.if you kick the front tires can you here any clicking sound like loose pin or bolt?mine did it with old calipers.with new one there is no sound at all.

No, no noises, everything is tight. Im picking up the caliper pin kit today and probably going to replace the pins tonight. I just did the pins in my wifes car last week!
My truck is out of warranty for that sort of stuff, just have a powertrain warranty left, so if there is a problem with the caliper ill probably do it myself, because im sure its not cheap.
