I own a 1986 F250, this is the problem that I am having:
The brake lights come on when I turn on the headlights. The brake lights do not work at all when I push on the pedal. I replaced both bulbs, but have the same problem. Could it be the brake pedal switch?
sounds like some wires are crossed or shorted. The tail lights should come on with the headlights, not the brake lights. Check the wires at the tail/brake light and under the rear of the truck where they tie in , up above and behind the bumper. Once you have the tail lights working then you can work on the turn signals and brake lights.
